Historically associated arms

Burke's General Armory (1884) records the following arms for a Kirke family of Yorkshire:

“Or, a chevron azure.”

Our Kirk line traces to Yorkshire in the early 1600s, before settling in Lurgan, County Armagh, Ulster, and later in Pennsylvania. At present, no documentary evidence has been found that connects our direct ancestors — Roger Kirk (c. 1624) and his descendants — to the armigerous Kirke family recorded by Burke.

This emblem is used here as a tribute to our Yorkshire origins and as a meaningful symbol of our family heritage.

IMPORTANT NOTE — These arms are not proven to have been borne by our direct ancestors. They are presented for historical and educational purposes as part of our family history research.
